At 9:08 a.m. on April 22, 2026, local time in Vietnam, a groundbreaking ceremony with distinct Vietnamese characteristics was held at the construction site of No. 1 Waste Heat Boiler for the 2 MTPA coke oven at No. 1 Power Plant of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company. This marked the official launch of its No. 1-8 Waste Heat Boiler Upgrade Project.

Attendees at the groundbreaking ceremony included owner’s representatives, namely, Mr. Bùi Văn Hữu, General Manager of the power plant, Mr. Đoàn Tiến Đạt, Deputy General Manager of No. 2 Electrical and Mechanical Plant, Mr. Tống Nguyên Đông, Director of the Power Plant, and Ms. Hồ Thanh Uyên, Director of No. 1 Electrical and Mechanical Plant; Huatai representatives, namely, Mr. Zou Tongfang, Deputy Director of Project Management Department, and Mr. Zhuang Xin, Project Manager; Mr. Tao Wenjun, Subcontract Project Manager; and key members of the project teams from all parties.

This project marks the 16^th collaboration between Hoa Phat and Huatai Yongchuang, reflecting Hoa Phat’s high recognition of and full trust in Huatai’s professionalism, technical capabilities and superior project management.
